Delhi School News : Amid rising air pollution in the national capital, Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-4) has been implemented. With the enforcement of GRAP-4, the Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi, has also issued new guidelines for schools.

According to the circular issued, schools in Delhi have been directed to conduct classes in hybrid mode for students up to Class 9 and Class 11.

Details Mentioned in the Notification

The DoE stated that due to GRAP-4, all Government, Government-aided, DoE, NDMC, MCD, Delhi Cantonment Board, unaided recognized, and private schools are instructed to conduct classes for students up to Class 9 and Class 11 in ‘hybrid mode’, i.e., both physical and online modes (wherever online facilities are available).

This order has come into effect immediately across Delhi and will remain applicable until further notice, as stated by the Directorate of Education.

AQI Crosses 450

It is important to note that the Air Quality Index (AQI) in several parts of Delhi has crossed 450. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is no immediate relief expected in the coming days. Due to this severe air quality situation, GRAP-4 has been enforced in the capital, which also includes a ban on the entry of heavy vehicles.

50% Staff Allowed in Government Offices

New rules have also been implemented for employees in Delhi. All Administrative Secretaries and Heads of Departments are required to be present in the office regularly. However, not more than 50% of the staff will be allowed to attend the office physically, while the remaining 50% will work from home. Administrative Secretaries and Department Heads may call officers or employees to the office as per requirement.

Rules for Private Offices

  • As far as possible, staggered office timings should be implemented.
  • Strict compliance with work-from-home rules must be ensured.
  • Vehicular movement related to office commuting should be minimized.
